Lenten Services and Studies
We will once again be holding our Wednesday evening Services during the Season of Lent, from 6:30 -7:00 p.m. We began these services with our Ash Wednesday service on March 5. The next six Wednesday evenings, March 12 – April 16, will be based upon the book “24 Hours That Changed the World” by Adam Hamilton. The book looks at the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life, beginning with the Last Supper on Thursday night and ending with Christ’s death on the cross the following afternoon. The focus
of our services each week is listed below.
March 12 The Last Supper
March 19 The Garden of Gethsemane
March 26 Condemned by the Righteous
April 2 Jesus, Barabbas, and Pilate
April 9 The Torture and Humiliation of the King
April 16 The Crucifixion (this Wednesday is Holy Wednesday)
Our Lay Servants will be presenting a short reflection on each of these topics during the service. Following
the worship service, we will gather for further discussion and reflection, which will include watching a DVD (also developed by Adam Hamilton).
You are also invited to “40 Days of Reflection” following the Lenten Devotion Booklet available at the entrance to the Sanctuary.
